2024 marked 50 years of research, science and advocacy for NatureServe, one of the premier institutions driving conservation data efforts in the U.S. To celebrate this achievement and publish its annual report, we came up with the concept of tree roots as a visual representation of NatureServe’s resilience and use of networks to advance biodiversity protection. We then identified the color palette referencing NatureServe’s brand colors. Tree ring graphic elements and full color photos from NatureServe’s archive add interest and context. The print report is an accordion fold with the timeline across the back, poster-style. At a time when so many species are at risk, NatureServe stands out in its ability to collect, share and harness data and technology that empowers scientists and legislators alike. Happy 50th anniversary, NatureServe!
